Why Mary Berry dislikes 'swearing and noisy' cooking shows
Cookery writer Mary Berry has admitted she does not like cooking shows that are "swearing and noisy," like those presented by Gordon Ramsay, because "it is entertainment rather than teaching you to cook."
However The Great British Bake Off judge does believe Ramsay is a "brilliant man" and also backed Jamie Oliver's call to get cooking lessons made compulsory in schools.
You can hear Mary Berry speaking to Kirsty Young on BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs on Sunday 29 July at 11:15 BST. Listen online or browse the extensive Desert Island Discs archive.
