Bells rung across UK to welcome in Olympics
People across the UK have taken part in three minutes of bell ringing to greet the official start of London 2012.
The mass ringing included church bells, hand bells, bicycle bells and doorbells.
The Turner Prize winning artist and musician Martin Creed came up with the All The Bells event which began at 08.12 BST.
