Flaming spirit - sights and sounds of the Olympic torch relay from across the UK

The Olympic flame arrived from Greece on the 18 May, and since then has been welcomed and celebrated by communities in 1,000 cities, towns and villages across the UK.

By the opening ceremony, it will have been carried by 8,000 torchbearers. Take a look here at the flame's winding journey from Land's End to London.
