London 2012: Olympic flame arrives in London
The Olympic flame has arrived in the host city in dramatic style, flown from Guildford by helicopter before an abseil into the Tower of London.
Royal Marine Martin Williams abseiled with the flame from the chopper into the Tower of London, where it will be locked in the vault, along with the Olympic medals.
Dame Kelly Holmes was the first person to carry the torch in London, followed by Abul Kasam of Tower Hamlets, who was selected as a torchbearer for his voluntary work in the borough.
The 200-mile London section of the relay then starts from Greenwich on Saturday.
