Volunteers help re-open English youth clubs

Help

Hundreds of English youth clubs, closed after council cuts, have re-opened with the help of community volunteers, according to research by the BBC.

The study found 60 different communities in which services have been saved, and many more where active campaigns had been launched, often with the backing of young people.

One such club, The Big H in Hellesdon near Norwich, was re-opened following a campaign by 21-year-old Ellie Richards, to raise funds and find volunteers.

The BBC's Home Editor Mark Easton reports.
