Hospital neglect led to dehydrated patient's death
An inquest into the death of a 22-year-old man from south London who died in hospital, has recorded a verdict of dehydration contributed to by neglect.
The coroner said "a cascade of individual failures" by staff at St George's Hospital in Tooting led to the death of Kane Gorny.
The hearing at Westminster Coroner's Court was told how Mr Gorny became delirious after he was not given vital medication to help his body retain fluids at the hospital.
After the verdict, the family's solicitor, James Stevenson, made a statement on their behalf.
