Diamond 'right to step down' says Ed Miliband
Labour leader Ed Miliband says Barclays chief executive Bob Diamond's resignation was "necessary and right".
Mr Diamond said he was stepping down because the external pressure on the bank risked "damaging the franchise".
Mr Miliband said a judge-led inquiry of the banking industry was now needed.
