Prince William's 30th birthday celebration will be a 'low-key' and 'private' affair St James's Palace has said.
Prince William was born at St Mary's Hospital, London. His mother, Princess Diana, wanted William to have as normal a life as possible. Here he plays football inside Kensington Palace, his childhood home.
Many see a strong resemblance to his mother in William. Here they watch a polo match together.
The Prince and Princess of Wales both accompanied William on his first day of school in September 1985.
