The President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, has said that his country will have to examine whether Julian Assange's life is in danger, when deciding whether to grant him asylum.

The Wikileaks founder sought refuge at Ecuador's Embassy in London on Tuesday to avoid extradition to Sweden.

Assange is wanted for questioning in Sweden over rape and sexual assault allegations, accusations he denies.
