Olympic torch: Giraffes and elephants see flame

The Olympic torch is carried past the elephant enclosure and then the giraffe paddock at Knowsley Safari Park.

Torchbearer Jane Campbell, 36, showed the flame to the animals at the park on day 14 of the relay.

Appropriately enough she was nominated for her work creating the Noah's Ark community centre from a derelict pub in Speke - one of the most deprived areas of the UK.

Ms Campbell helped to raise about £500,000 for the project and was nominated by members of the centre who said she had "stamina and energy to rival any Olympic athlete".
