London 2012: Ben Ainslie starts torch relay run

Help

The Olympic Torch Relay has got under way, marking the latest stage in the countdown to London 2012.

The Olympic flame, which arrived at RNAS Culdrose in Cornwall from Athens on Friday evening, set off from Land's End.

The relay started with a gentle run from triple Olympic gold medallist Ben Ainslie.

He passed the flame - in a torch "kiss" - on to the second torchbearer, 18-year-old surfer Anastassia 'Tassy' Swallow from St Ives.
