Marriage breakups leaving more saddled with debt

A marriage break up can be a traumatic enough time for any couple but now more and more divorcees are finding themselves saddled with debt.

New figures from the Consumer Credit Counselling Service suggest that larger numbers of women leave marriages with debts than men.

But the charity also discovered that men often owe larger amounts of money.
