UK 'approved' Libya suspect rendition

Help

The British government was involved in the rendition of a terrorist suspect to the Gaddafi regime in Libya, the BBC has been told.

Evidence emerged during last year's Libya conflict that MI6 was party to the rendition of Abdel Hakim Belhaj, who claims he was tortured by the Libyans.

He is now suing an MI6 officer and the British government.

Peter Taylor reports.
