Public information films: From Green Cross to avoiding pylons


For more than 60 years, the Central Office of Information has warned us, informed us and told us what to do, but now it is closing.

The COI was set up in 1946 to help the government communicate a whole range of messages to the public, and for six decades its films urged us to put safety first.
