The Afghan parliament has passed a resolution demanding that the American soldier who killed 16 civilians in Kandahar should be tried in an Afghan court.

Reports say the gunman, thought to have recently suffered a mental breakdown, was a 38 year-old staff sergeant on his first tour of duty in Afghanistan.

BBC Radio 5 live Breakfast spoke to Rob Paxman, a former SAS Officer and the founder of the Talking2Minds charity, which offers support to soldiers returning from conflict.
