François Hollande launches Socialist manifesto for French election
François Hollanden, the Socialist candidate for this year's presidential election in France, has set out his policies for the contest.
He has made it clear he would target the rich to tackle the country's deficit and to fund his spending plans.
Hollande is currently doing well in the polls against President Nicolas Sarkozy, who has surprised his supporters by talking of the prospect of defeat.
Gavin Hewitt reports.
