UK 'will do more to fight the world's diseases'

Help

The British Government has announced it is to significantly increase funding to fight disease in the most deprived parts of the world.

Ministers say they are increasing spending by five-fold to $380m over four years - as part of a global effort to help hundreds of millions of people.

It comes in the run up to an international conference to be hosted by the American business magnate Bill Gates.

The BBC's Sophie Hutchinson reports.
