The Diamond Jubilee: Events calendar

A wide range of events marked the Queen's 60-year reign. Major celebrations took place on an extended Bank Holiday weekend on 2, 3, 4 and 5 June. This is a round-up of those key events, with links to official websites where available.

  • The Queen, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall and Countess of Wessex, and Prime Minister David Cameron attended the Commonwealth Day Observance Service to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee along with 1,000 schoolchildren. Soprano Laura Wright performed a new song, Stronger as One.

  • Thousands of members of the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force took part in a parade and flypast to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
  • The event was designed to reflect the close relationship between the Queen and the armed forces.
  • More than 2,500 servicemen and women marched past the Queen in Windsor Castle before mustering in an arena.
  • A flypast of 78 current and historic aircraft, including helicopters and the Red Arrows closed the event.
