High speed rail route to be reconsidered

The planned route of Britain's second High Speed rail link between London and Birmingham is to be reconsidered because of concerns it could damage an area of outstanding natural beauty.

The government is set to announce a new study into whether to build an extra tunnel through countryside north of London, costing around £500m.
