Unison leader Dave Prentis: 'We've tried everything'

Help

Unison leader Dave Prentis has said that no formal improved offer was ever put forward by the government in the bitter row over public sector pensions.

His comments came after Chief Treasury Secretary Danny Alexander said recent changes to the government's offer could be withdrawn if a mass strike planned for next week went ahead.

But speaking to the BBC, Mr Prentice said that the government had "never moved" on the issue of increased employee contributions, despite months of negotiations.
