M5 crash: Family describe their ordeal


A family who escaped the fatal crash on the M5 in Somerset in which seven people died have described how they escaped from their van.

Investigators are treating a nearby fireworks display as a "major line of inquiry" after the 34-vehicle pile-up near junction 25, at Taunton on Friday night.

Michelle and Matt Craker and their seven-year-old son Fredrik from Colyton, Devon suffered cuts and bruises but no serious injuries.

They described how they saw "balls of fire flying up into the air" as they escaped from their van and helped a man nearby.
