October's weather predicted to break temperature record
Many people across the UK have been taking advantage of the good weather
Weather forecasters are predicting that the record for the hottest UK October day will be broken over the weekend.
The 29.4C (84.9F) record was set at March, Cambridgeshire on 1 October 1985
BBC weather forecaster Darren Bett said there was a "good chance" the October record would be broken on Saturday.
On Friday, Cambridge set a new record temperature for the hottest ever 30 September with 29.2C (84.5F), beating the 27.8C (82F) set in Maidenhead, Berkshire in 1908.
Kew Gardens in west London set another record on Thursday with 28.8C (83.8F) - the highest ever 29 September temperature, beating the mark of 27.8C (82F) set in York in 1895.
Mr Bett said: "The first day of October this year will see temperatures near 30C.
"This temperature is most likely around the London area and the East Midlands. Sunday won't be quite as hot, and it will slowly cool down from the North West next week."

Network Rail said there were some temporary speed restrictions in place over short stretches of train track because of the heat, which in extreme cases could buckle in long periods of high temperature.
A spokeswoman said: "No rail passenger journeys are being significantly delayed by the hot weather.
"We fully expect no significant delays for the rest of the day.
"We continuously monitor the weather and act accordingly to make sure train services continue to run safely."
