A man who blinded his girlfriend by gouging her eyes has admitted causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

At Truro Crown Court, Shane Jenkin, 32, of Sea Lane, Hayle, Cornwall, admitted attacking Tina Nash.

He was arrested after the attack at a property in Hayle on 20 April last year.

Ms Nash, then 31, suffered severe facial injuries. Jenkin kept her imprisoned in the house for 12 hours after the attack, the court heard.

Speaking to the BBC's Jon Kay, Ms Nash said she had been left with nothing by the attack.
