The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have finished their first tour as a married couple with a couple of days in Los Angeles, California. Prince William scored four goals at a charity polo match at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club, where he secured a congratulatory kiss from his wife.
The couple mingled with Hollywood stars at a Bafta dinner held to promote up-and-coming British talent. Catherine wore a flowing lilac dress with white waistband, by Alexander McQueen, and Jimmy Choo shoes.
Prince William is president of Bafta and used the dinner to introduce a group of 42 emerging actors, producers, writers and videogame designers to the movers and shakers of LA.
Famous names at the the £15,000-a-table ($25,000) event included Barbra Streisand, Nicole Kidman, Tom Hanks, Blake Lively and Jack Black. While Hollywood stars such as Jennifer Lopez dazzled, British celebrities at the event were represented by Stephen Fry, Cat Deeley and Gordon Ramsay.
Moulin Rouge star Kidman told reporters: "I think they are lovely. I just got off the phone to my mum and she said 'I'm so glad you're going, you're Australian' - they just make you smile."
In Los Angeles, the couple arrived at the British consul-general's residence, where they stayed during their visit. The duchess's green silk gown, by American designer Diane Von Furstenberg, was her fourth outfit within a few hours.
The couple arrived in Los Angeles on Friday following a successful nine-day tour of Canada. Upon arriving in America, they attended a UK Trade & Investment event focused on new media before hosting a garden party in the afternoon.
Prince William was reunited with famous friend and footballer David Beckham at the British consul-general's residence. The pair worked closely on England's failed bid to host the 2018 World Cup.
Actor Stephen Fry, who tweeted that "the Cambridges dazzled everyone", was among some 200 guests at the drinks and canape reception to welcome the royals.
On Sunday, the final day of their tour, Prince William and Kate visited the Inner City Arts campus in the Skid Row area of the city where they took part in a painting class and also helped children make some ceramic sculptures.
Another Hollywood star the couple met was actress Reese Witherspoon who, like Prince William, is also a patron of the Tusk Trust charity.
