Royal wedding: A montage of past events

Archive footage of major royal weddings of the past 70 years, including Princess Elizabeth marrying the Duke of Edinburgh in 1947, and her sister Princess Margaret's wedding - the first to be televised - in 1960.

More recently, the pomp and circumstance of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer's wedding at St Paul's Cathedral in 1981 contrasts with the more intimate ceremony held in 1999 when Prince Edward married Sophie Rhys-Jones at St George's Chapel in Windsor.
