The view from The Shard, UK's tallest skyscraper
Britain has a new tallest skyscraper. The Shard, next to London Bridge, will stand at more than 300m (1,000ft), when it is completed in 2012.
BBC Radio 5 live reporter Stephen Chittenden visited the construction site. "It looks like a sort of etiolated, elongated pyramid," he explains.
"The concrete core has been built," he tells BBC Radio 5 live Breakfast presenters Nicky Campbell and Shelagh Fogarty.
"When it is finished it will be very striking indeed."
