Audio slideshow: Highgate cemetery

Highgate Cemetery is one of the grandest Victorian graveyards in the UK, with the likes of Karl Marx and George Eliot interred in its ivy-covered vaults.

Diarist and literary editor Diana Athill paid a visit with Today presenter James Naughtie and Jean Pateman, former chairman of the Friends of Highgate Cemetery, as part of her stint as a guest editor of the Today programme.
