May: Gangs intent on violence infiltrated student protest

Help

Home Secretary Theresa May addressed the House of Commons on Monday saying that "hardcore activists and street gangs" infiltrated last week's student protests in London.

About 15,000 students participated in a march last week to protest against the government's plans to increase tuition fees in England up to £9,000.

Theresa May went on to confirm that one of the protesters had made contact with the Duchess of Cornwall when the royal car was attacked and that a full review of the incident would be released on 17 December.
