Taped interview from Baby P's mother

Help

A taped interview with Baby Peter's mother obtained by the BBC's Panorama programme gives a revealing insight into how she tried to keep child protection authorities at arm's length.

She talks about a man who is a friend, but not a boyfriend. This hour-long interview was carried out four months before her son died of horrific abuse.

Tracey Connelly was convicted of causing or allowing Peter's death, along with the man she talks about.

The BBC's social affairs correspondent, Alison Holt reports.
