Spending Review: Charity cuts 'will hit Big Society'

Help

Charity Commission chair Dame Suzi Leather has said cutting funding to charities providing important public services will only raise spending elsewhere.

She told the BBC's Politics Show she feared the lack of funding for charities helping young people would lead to "those kids... at the door of the police... social services... sometimes mental health services".

"If you cut the charities you're cutting our ability to help each other".
