What to do if you get a letter from the taxman

Help

Nearly six million people who have paid the wrong amount of income tax will start receiving letters informing them of the errors. Some 1.4 million people will face demands for more payments whilst 4.3 million will be told they have paid too much and are due a rebate.

John Whiting from the Chartered Institute of Taxation told BBC Breakfast what to do if you receive one of these letters.
