Flappy Bird game withdrawn by developer

The maker of a hit game for mobile phones has shocked users by withdrawing it despite claiming it was earning him $50,000 a day.

Flappy Bird has been topping the games charts around the world and is the latest example of a viral hit made by a solo developer rather than a big games business.
