Exhibition shows London 'under concrete'

18 December 2013 Last updated at 00:15 GMT

A new exhibition has used digital technology to re-imagine large unrealised building schemes which would have changed the face of London.

Almost Lost: London's Buildings Loved and Loathed features proposed schemes which would have cleared away much of Covent Garden, Soho, Piccadilly Circus and Whitehall.

In this film, Emily Gee and Cathy Power of English Heritage describe some of the planned schemes.

The exhibition runs at Wellington Arch, London, until 2 February 2014
