Facebook in video policy U-turn

23 October 2013 Last updated at 12:21 BST

Facebook has removed a video clip showing a woman's decapitation and issued new rules about what can be shared on its site.

The U-turn comes two days after the BBC revealed the firm had dropped a ban on videos showing extreme violence, a move criticised by the British prime minister and the company's own safety advisers.

Facebook now says it will still allow some graphic content but will take a more comprehensive look at the context.

Rory Cellan-Jones reports.
