2 July 2013 Last updated at 00:25 BST

The 11 finalists of the TeenTech awards, held for the first time this year and recognising the achievements of pupils working on technology projects, were invited to Buckingham Palace on Monday.

It was a chance to show off their projects to Prince Andrew, the awards' patron, who also handed out prizes to the winners in a presentation ceremony.

The overall winners were Loreto Grammar School from Altrincham, Greater Manchester. Their 'QuickCheck' bracelet is able to help people with diabetes to monitor their blood glucose level.
