PM: Paddy O'Connell faces his hologram
When Tupac Shakur appeared at a live concert earlier this year, it took fans by surprise.
The rapper died 16 years ago, but a 3D image of him, described as a hologram, performed on-stage alongside living stars Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg.
Now the technology - which actually relies on a Victorian optical illusion known as Pepper's Ghost - could see more artists like Elvis Presley and Jimi Hendrix coming back from the dead.
Radio 4 PM sent Paddy O'Connell to the London-based company behind the technology, Musion Systems, where they showed him how it worked.
You can listen to more about the artists gigging from beyond the grave here.
