As a N900 user, I'm relying on the absolutely amazing community contributions to keep my device going strong until such time as I'm forced to 'upgrade' (More like downgrade!) to an android device. Nokia can keep their Windows phones as far as I'm concerned.

Would it be very cynical to point out the lack of interest? 2 comments in 3.5 hours. Indicative only, but not a particularly reassuring sign for either Nokia or Microsoft...

I believe this is an attempt by both Microsoft and nokia to try and combine their failing badge names in the phone market. Nokia were the big boys once but are unlikely to take over again, and Microsofts WP7 sales were dissapointing for them at best. I see this as a last ditch attempt by both companies to try and dig something out of the wreckage

Nokia has slipped too far behind. By the time it catches up to one innovation, other smart phones will be that much further ahead (again). What Nokia needs to do is come up with something absolutely, incredibly new - like outside the box. I just don't see that happening.
(Why would I want Microsoft operating system on my Nokia?)
