Tech heads display DIY projects at New York Maker Faire
Tinkerers, engineers and tech enthusiasts have gathered in New York for the 2011 World Maker Faire to display their home-brewed art and technology projects.
Advertised as an "adult science faire", Maker Faire was created by Make Magazine and first held in California in 2006.
Projects on display at the now global event can range from homemade robots to 3-D printers to tech-focused art installations.
Produced by the BBC's Matt Danzico
