Twin sisters Aneeta and Ameeta Kumar have been named UK Young Scientists of the Year for their research into developing an early diagnostic tool for cancer, which is hoped could save many lives.

The pair, both 18-years-old, beat off competition from 4,000 others to win the trophy.

Their work is now going to be developed by a team at Oxford University.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Saturday 15th March.
