Can new technology save fish?


On Tuesday, Europe's fisheries ministers will consider a demand to stop over-fishing and to end the controversial practice of discarding unwanted fish.

The European Parliament has already voted to return fisheries to a sustainable level, so there's big public pressure on governments to back reforms to fishing policy.

But if fishermen are to fish more responsibly the industry needs a technological revolution.

The BBC's environment analyst Roger Harrabin visited a laboratory in Denmark which is developing new ways of fishing.
