Lake Ellsworth: Why drill a cavity?


A British research team are on a mission to explore a hidden lake deep beneath the Antarctic ice.

Chris Hill, an engineer from the British Antarctic Survey, explains why the team is drilling a cavity in the ice before they drill down to Lake Ellsworth to hunt for signs of life.
