Curiosity rover sends 'most detailed' photos of Mars

The most detailed photographs of Mars ever taken have been released by Nasa.

The photographs were taken by the Curiosity rover and show distinct ridges where scientists plan to search for evidence that the planet once supported life.

On Monday, the rover relayed "the first voice recording to be sent from another planet".
