Mars rover Curiosity in successful test drive
Nasa has published an image of the Curiosity rover after successfully completing its first test drive on Mars.
The image, showing Curiosity in its new position with the touchdown point and wheel tracks visible in the background, was greeted with applause as Nasa scientist Matt Heverly told the audience:
"I'm pleased to report that today Curiosity had her first successful drive on Mars... we have a fully functioning mobility system."
