Archive: Images of solar storm released by NASA
Nasa has released images of a solar storm on the sun.
The Solar Dynamics Observatory says it began with the eruption of a massive flare on Thursday.
Scientists expect that the blast of charged solar particles will shake Earth's magnetic field at some point on Saturday.
They say it will be a minor event, which is unlikely to disrupt power grids or communications systems.
