Cern director Rolf Heuer welcomes Higgs boson news
Scientists in Geneva reveal that they have discovered a particle consistent with the long-sought Higgs boson.
The Higgs boson would help explain why particles have mass, and fills a glaring hole in the current best theory to describe how the Universe works.
The director-general of Cern (European Organization for Nuclear Researc), Rolf Heuer, said: "As a layman, we have it, but as a scientist, we have to find out what sort of Higgs boson it is".
