Timelapse of Himalayan glacier lake
Scientists are using timelapse photography to study the lakes that form on the surface of Ngozumpa Glacier in Nepal.
These lakes can fill and drain in rapid time, sending prodigious volumes of water down the glacier.
For some of the biggest lakes, a drain event can see some 50,000 cubic metres of water being lost in one day.
