Rare cloud formation observed over West Yorkshire
A type of cloud rarely seen in Britain, the lens-shaped lenticular cloud, has been observed in the skies over many parts of West Yorkshire.
Lenticular clouds are mostly seen near large mountain ranges such as the Himalayas, Andes and Rocky Mountains.
The clouds formed when stable but moist air travelled over the Pennines.
