Space station welcomes tourist Dennis Tito

California businessman Dennis Tito became the first ever commercial space tourist in April 2001.

A Soyuz rocket transporting Mr Tito and Russian cosmonauts Talgat Musbayev and Yuri Baturin, docked at the International Space Station on 30 April 2001.

Mr Tito was reported to have paid Russia $20m for his eight-day adventure. Fergus Walsh reports.
