Bees to benefit from wildflower 'roads' across UK

A scheme aimed at increasing the number of bees in the UK is encouraging farmers to plant more wildflowers.

The native bee population has halved in the past 25 years, and the loss of British wildflower meadows has taken some of the blame.

The project, launching in Yorkshire, will see long strips of species such as red clover and sown to encourage bees and butterflies to fly further and pollinate more plants.
