A pigeon lover and a pest controller debate if the birds are to be loved or loathed

Is the common urban pigeon to be loved or loathed? Are they our feathered friends or vile? A pigeon lover and a pest controller debate.

Alex Lockett is from Project Pigeon which teaches people the art of pigeon caring. She tells BBC Radio 5 live: "Pigeons are such fascinating creatures... We owe a lot to pigeons."

However, pest controller Nick Robertson tells presenter Tony Livesey: "The problem most towns have are with feral pigeons.... It's a bit like handling a rat."
